Our Mission
Voices of the Missing is an Australian-founded network dedicated to helping families locate and report missing persons. We build the infrastructure, both digital and community-based, that lets information flow where it is needed most.
Our approach combines grassroots community engagement with modern documentation practices, ensuring every reported case receives the attention and resources it deserves.
We stand with families in their search for answers, providing not just tools and registries, but emotional support and a community that understands their journey.

Our Journey
Where it began
Volunteers began documenting missing persons from Eritrea and the wider region, before any platform existed.
Building the platform
We designed and built one secure, multilingual registry platform, working with families and community volunteers.
Voices of the Missing established
Voices of the Missing was established in Western Australia as the umbrella organisation for the Missing From registries.
Eritrea and Sudan go live
missingfromeritrea.org and missingfromsudan.org opened to the public for reports and search.
Ethiopia and Somalia go live
missingfromethiopia.org opened two years ahead of schedule in five languages, followed by missingfromsomalia.org in Somali, Arabic and English. Voices of the Missing Ltd was registered as an Australian not-for-profit company.
Yemen and Syria go live
missingfromyemen.org and missingfromsyria.org opened in Arabic and English, built on the same shared platform as the other registries.

Voices of the Missing Ltd is a registered Australian not-for-profit company (ACN 701 506 612, ABN 70 701 506 612) and a registered charity with the Australian Charities and Not-for-profits Commission (ACNC). The registries and the records they hold are operated under Australian law.
