Reporting responsibly

The people on our registries are missing, and many of their relatives remain at risk. When covering the network, please:

  • Do not contact families through the registries. We do not arrange interviews with families or share their details.
  • Publish only what a registry already shows publicly, and never a relative's name, location or contact details without their consent.
  • Weigh the risk to relatives still living in the country of origin before publishing anything that could identify them.
  • Describe people as missing unless their family or an authority has confirmed otherwise. We do not comment on individual cases.
